Job summary
Malin is seeking a Project Design Engineer to design and implement warehouse material handling systems. You will translate customer needs into CAD drawings for conveyors, sortation, racking and related equipment, while coordinating with sales and CAD teams to manage design, costing, and scheduling.
Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 5+ years in warehouse layout or automation, and proficiency in AutoCAD.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
- Five or more years of experience in warehouse layout, design, automation and controls.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and related design software.
- Experience with conveyors, material handling equipment and systems integration is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain design concepts based on customer requirements and create CAD drawings.
- Direct the design process and coordinate with sales and CAD teams.
- Identify vendors for equipment and software and provide guidance during detailed design.
- Attend conferences and trainings to stay current with material handling technologies.
- Establish strategic relationships with suppliers and integrators.
