Job Description

AECOM is looking to hire a Project Delivery Leader (PDL) to oversee projects and project teams within our East Environment/Energy Business line. The role is set up to be remote, however we will need the candidate to reside within the United States of America.

The PDL will report directly to the Director of Operations (DOO), will serve as Project Director, and will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of projects in the Environment Business Line. The PDL will work closely with the Project Managers responsible for these projects to grow their financial acumen, project management capabilities, and drive overall project performance.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Accountability for the planning, safe execution, and delivery of a portfolio of Environment projects
  • Evaluating day-to-day project delivery performance, pricing strategies, risk management, forecasting and budgeting, and performance reporting
  • Interpreting project performance figures to support risk evaluation and financial forecasting
  • Providing proactive and hands-on support to project managers to support strong financial monitoring, prevent project issues, address risks, and make recommendations to improve project performance
  • Ensuring appropriate scheduling tools and processes are in use by the project team
  • Developing strong deputy project managers
  • Partnering with Finance to deliver successful projects

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience in the engineering/energy consulting industry
  • Two years of leadership experience
  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent experience managing projects, including the development, monitoring and ownership of scope, schedule, budget, quality, team, subconsultants and client relationships
  • Understanding of scheduling concepts and earned value management
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from pursuit through closeout
  • Experience with multiple types of contracts
  • Broad knowledge of and experience in environmental consulting work in various markets
