Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–7 years of experience in construction cost control, project cost administration, or related field.
  • Experience reviewing pay applications and invoices.
  • Understanding of budgets, commitments, expenditures, forecasts, and cost reporting.
  • Experience tracking purchase orders, change orders, invoices, accruals, and commitments.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work with financial/project data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to future project assignments across the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update project budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts.
  • Assist with preparation of weekly and monthly cost reports.
  • Track expenditures and identify discrepancies, variances, and issues.
  • Assist with EAC and ETC updates.
  • Review contractor/subcontractor pay apps for accuracy and terms.
  • Track and process invoices, POs, commitments, accruals, and payments.
  • Coordinate with AP, procurement, contractors, and vendors on invoicing issues.
  • Maintain records of commitments, expenditures, and forecasted costs.
  • Assist with change order tracking and cost trending.
  • Collaborate with project controls, construction, procurement, contracts, and finance teams.

Job description

Support an ongoing site-based construction assignment in Corpus Christi, TX, with future projects requiring on-site presence across the U.S. You'll work closely with the Senior Project Controls Professional, Project Managers, Construction Managers, contractors, and vendors, providing day-to-day cost support throughout the project lifecycle — including cost tracking, forecasting support, pay applications, invoicing, commitments, purchase orders, change management, and cost reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update project budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts
  • Assist with preparation of weekly and monthly cost reports
  • Track project expenditures and identify discrepancies, variances, and potential cost issues
  • Assist with Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC) updates
  • Review contractor/subcontractor pay applications for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with contract terms
  • Track and process invoices, purchase orders, commitments, accruals, and payment status
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Procurement, contractors, and vendors to resolve invoicing/payment issues
  • Maintain accurate records of project commitments, expenditures, and forecasted costs
  • Assist with change order and change management tracking
  • Compare actual costs against budget/forecast and research variances
  • Collect cost information from construction teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Maintain accurate project cost documentation in project systems
  • Assist with monthly cost reconciliation and reporting
  • Support project closeout activities, including reconciliation of commitments, invoices, and outstanding costs
  • Work collaboratively with project controls, construction, procurement, contracts, and finance teams
Required:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field — or equivalent experience
  • 3–7 years of experience in construction cost control, project cost administration, project accounting, or related field
  • Experience reviewing contractor/subcontractor pay applications and invoices
  • Understanding of construction budgets, commitments, expenditures, forecasts, and cost reporting
  • Experience tracking purchase orders, change orders, invoices, accruals, and commitments
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work with financial/project data
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with contractors, vendors, project managers, and project controls professionals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based construction environment

Preferred:
  • Experience on industrial, commercial, infrastructure, energy, or manufacturing construction projects
  • Experience with project cost control/financial systems (Oracle, EcoSys, Unifier, SAP, Procore)
  • Experience supporting EAC/ETC forecasting
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and contractor billing procedures
  • Experience with change management and cost trending
  • Knowledge of cost codes, WBS structures, commitments, accruals, and cost reporting
  • Experience supporting large capital or EPC projects
