RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an experienced Nuclear Engineering Project Coordinator to support engineering leadership on new commercial reactor projects. The role emphasizes technical documentation, meeting coordination, and cross-functional collaboration in a highly technical environment.

This onsite Wilmington, NC position requires US citizenship, willingness to work on W2, and the ability to produce and publish specifications, reports, manuals, and presentations on time while maintaining

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering managers in planning, coordination, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate technical activities supporting engineering deliverables.
  • Maintain accountability for on-time delivery of documentation and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including meeting notes, status updates, presentations, procedures, specifications, manuals, and action trackers.
  • Organize engineering and project meetings; prepare agendas and materials.
  • Document decisions, actions, owners, and next steps; track follow-ups through closure.
  • Monitor progress to meet deadlines and quality requirements.
  • Establish relationships with engineering managers, project managers, engineers, contributors, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate communications between engineering teams and external project partners.
  • Serve as liaison across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Identify project issues, dependencies, and risks; support mitigation activities.
  • Maintain digital and physical project records; ensure information is current.
  • Improve information-sharing processes; apply Lean and continuous-improvement.

Due to nuclear site access/or export-controlled project requirements, this role requires candidates to be U.S. Citizens and not hold dual citizenship. Candidates must also be willing to work on W2.

Nuclear Engineering Project Coordinator – Technical Documentation & Project Support

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Contract Duration: Approximately 12 Months (Possible multi-year extension and conversion to Full time based on performance)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Hours: 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $43/hr + 50% Health Insurance (Medical + Dental + Vision)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Coordinator to support engineering leadership and project teams working on new commercial nuclear reactor projects.

This position is ideal for someone who combines strong project coordination, technical documentation, meeting coordination, Microsoft Office, stakeholder communication, and organizational skills with the ability to operate effectively in a highly technical engineering environment.

The Engineering Project Coordinator will support the development and publication of technical specifications, engineering reports, manuals, presentations, procedures, schedules, meeting documentation, and other project deliverables.

The coordinator will also organize engineering meetings, track action items, maintain project documentation, coordinate across internal and external engineering organizations, and help improve the processes and collaboration tools used by engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support engineering managers in the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of engineering projects.

  • Improve technical information-sharing processes across engineering teams and external partners.
  • Apply Lean and continuous-improvement principles to streamline engineering workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, communication, documentation, and team collaboration.
Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following education/experience requirements:

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an exceptionally organized Engineering Project Coordinator who enjoys bringing structure to complex technical projects.

You may not necessarily be designing the nuclear reactor systems yourself, but you should be comfortable working alongside engineers, project managers, engineering managers, technical specialists, and external engineering partners.

You should be able to take a technical engineering meeting and turn it into clear, actionable information by documenting:

  • What was discussed
  • What decisions were made
  • What actions are required
  • Who owns each action
  • When each action is due
  • What dependencies or risks exist
  • Whether those actions have been completed

Strong candidates will also be comfortable developing polished technical reports, presentations, procedures, schedules, meeting notes, status reports, and other engineering documentation.

Work Arrangement

This position is 100% onsite in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Candidates must be willing and able to work onsite Monday through Friday.
