Harris County is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator to assist in collecting unpaid tolls and manage legal cases. The role involves coordinating with clients, supporting administrative hearings, and analyzing data sets. Under general supervision, the Project Coordinator will assist in collecting unpaid toll amounts by supporting in-person and virtual Administrative Hearings, preparing reports, and entering defendant PII into tracking systems for active cases. Individuals in this role will be responsible for coordinating payments with toll road users, supporting collection projects, analyzing data sets, and preparing evidence for multi-vehicle lawsuits. Additional responsibilities include assisting with record requests, verifying ownership details through databases, and handling administrative tasks such as mailing, printing, and refining Standard Operating Procedures.
The Project Coordinator is expected to possess strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, attention to detail, proficiency with various software and database systems, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Located in downtown Houston, the Harris County Attorney’s Office represents Harris County government, the Harris County Flood Control District, the Harris County Toll Road Authority, and the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network in all civil matters, including lawsuits. The office also provides legal advice to county officials and employees.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work :
This is a full-time position with the typical work hours of Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required based on the specific needs and demands of the department.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position is performed in a typical office setting and involves regular use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, scanners, and filing cabinets. The work is primarily sedentary, involving extended periods of sitting, with occasional walking or standing as needed.
In some cases, the role may require standing for extended periods depending on the task. The position also requires manual dexterity, with frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks such as typing, data entry, or handling small tools and equipment. Physical exertion is minimal, though the role may occasionally involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds.
Compensation:
The base compensation for this position will be determined on the candidate’s qualifications and the pay of other employees in the job function. Total compensation includes attractive paid leave programs, health benefits, and retirement plans.
In addition, the position is eligible for the accrual of compensatory time off for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, consistent with Harris County personnel policies and procedures.
