Job summary

Molex in Naperville, IL is seeking a Project Coordinator to bridge production floor activities with front-office planning. You will help launch, schedule, and move projects efficiently from planning through execution, coordinating across planning, engineering, quality, production, and procurement to improve visibility and momentum.

You will join a collaborative operations team delivering optical connectivity solutions through operational excellence, continuous improvement, and entrepreneurship.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow projects through completion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Project coordination and execution across multiple functional areas to accelerate milestones.
  • Monitor and track NPI project status, identify blockers, and drive timely decisions.
  • Coordinate activities to achieve project milestones and commitments.
  • Maintain project status reports, action logs, and tracking tools for visibility.
  • Initiate and facilitate regular project and operational status meetings.
  • Support leadership with project tracking, data collection, and progress reporting.
  • Communicate status, risks, delays, and priority changes clearly and timely.
  • Escalate issues to ensure timely resolution and develop visual management tools.
  • Support standardized reporting and communication processes across operations.
  • Support 5S and workplace organization initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement focused on quality, delivery, and safety.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in implementing and sustaining operational best practices.
  • Coordinate project-related documentation for accuracy and accessibility.
  • Assist SMEs in documenting best practices and process documentation.

The Project Coordinator serves as the primary bridge between the production floor and front office planning, helping ensure projects are launched, scheduled, and moved efficiently from planning through execution. This role coordinates activities across multiple operational sites and functions, including planning, engineering, quality, production, and procurement, to improve visibility, remove obstacles, and maintain project momentum.

What You Will Do
Project coordination and execution:
  • Serve as primary point person between production, planning, engineering, quality, and procurement to accelerate project execution.
  • Monitor and track all new product introduction (NPI) project status, identify gaps and blockers, and help drive timely responses and decisions on projects that are delayed or on hold.
  • Coordinate activities necessary to achieve project milestones and commitments.
  • Maintain project status reports, action logs, and other tracking tools to provide visibility to stakeholders.
  • Initiate and facilitate regular project and operational status meetings.
  • Support leadership with project tracking, data collection, and progress reporting.
Communication and project visibility:
  • Communicate complete, accurate, and timely information regarding project status, risks, delays, and changes in priorities.
  • Appropriately escalation issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Help develop and maintain visual management tools that highlight priorities, actions, due dates, and project status.
  • Support the creation of standardized reporting and communication processes across the operation.
Operational excellence:
  • Support 5S initiatives and workplace organization efforts throughout the facility.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on quality, delivery, and safety.
  • Help identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements that enhance workflow and project execution.
  • Assist in implementing and sustaining operational best practices.
Documentation and standardization:
  • Coordinate project-related documentation to support accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
  • Assist subject matter experts in documenting best practices and developing process documentation.
  • Ensure project-related documentation is complete, accurate, and readily accessible.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow projects through completion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Associate's degree or technical certification in manufacturing, engineering technology, business, or related field.
  • Experience supporting projects, production planning, operations, or manufacturing engineering activities.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, visual management, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience creating work instructions, process documentation, or project tracking systems
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP (SAP) systems and manufacturing workflows.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

For this role, we anticipate paying $60,000 - $85,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
