Job summary

The JMF Underground Inc project coordinator supports the PP&L project team in planning, scheduling, procurement, and reporting for underground utility construction. You will liaise with field crews, vendors, and clients to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and compliant with safety and regulatory requirements.

Based in Mechanicsburg, you’ll help prepare documentation, track milestones, and generate status updates while contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of project coordination, construction administration, or utility construction experience preferred.
  • Experience in underground utility, electric utility, civil construction, or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience with project management software, ERP systems, or utility management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and project coordination support to the PP&L Project Manager.
  • Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Coordinate with field crews, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors regarding project needs and schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including permits, work orders, contracts, change orders, and closeout packages.
  • Enter and update project information in company and client management systems.
  • Assist with project budgeting by tracking costs, invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments.
  • Monitor material procurement and delivery schedules to support field operations.
  • Coordinate utility locates, inspections, and permitting requirements as needed.
  • Generate and distribute project status reports, production updates, and customer communications.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities and job progress.
  • Support invoice preparation and documentation required for customer billing.
  • Assist with workforce scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and PP&L project requirements.
  • Communicate project issues and potential delays to the PP&L Project Manager and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting notes and action items.

About the Role

The PP&L Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful planning, execution, and closeout of underground utility construction projects for PP&L. This position serves as a key liaison between field operations, project management, clients, and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company and utility requirements.
