Job summary

Socket.dev in Massachusetts is seeking a Project Coordinator to support Project Managers in delivering development projects. You will attend client meetings, draft proposals, track schedules and budgets, and help manage communications across design teams.

The role emphasizes organized planning, attention to detail, and the ability to work with MS Office and MS Project. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with courses or educational credits in industry specific curriculum.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting Project Managers in the delivery of development projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project a plus.
  • CAPM certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements.
  • Assist the PM in drafting and issuing project proposals, RFPs, and preliminary schedules.
  • Keep the PM and management informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
  • Prepare project organization and communication charts.
  • Track the progress and quality of work by design disciplines and trades.
  • Use scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, hours, budgets and expenditures.
  • Communicate relevant project information to the client and project team.
  • Review field inspection reports from Consultants throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Review and evaluate the merit of change orders for all projects and discuss them with the Project Manager.
  • Monitor subcontractor progress including invoices.
  • Identify staffing needs for projects with the PM.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Attend client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Duties are largely performed in an office setting.
  • Office work may include prolonged seated tasks, extended keyboarding, and use of computer screen.
  • May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
  • Position may require travel (expected to be less than 30%); valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, use hands, reach, talk and hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of project planning methodologies such as critical path planning.
  • The ability to accurately review and complete detail-oriented information and projects.
  • The ability to conceptualize and organize the project planning process.
  • Advanced knowledge in the field of energy infrastructure.
  • The ability to take responsibility and function under minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to conduct and participate in meetings with senior management.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
  • Goal and action oriented; takes project setbacks in stride, and acts on opportunities as they present themselves to add value to the project and the client.
  • Must have excellent computer/internet skills and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s Degree with courses or educational credits in industry specific curriculum.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting Project Managers in the delivery of development projects.
