Job summary

ABEC Inc. is seeking a Project Controls Technician to manage schedules, cost tracking, and reporting on engineering/design and custom process equipment manufacturing projects across ABEC sites, primarily from our Bethlehem, PA facility. The role requires MS Project and ERP proficiency and strong cost control skills.

The position is full-time and on-site in Bethlehem, PA. A Bachelor’s degree and experience in project planning and CI/Lean practices are preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or Business Administration with relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in project planning, project management, and cost/schedule control of projects with a high degree of complexity preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Project & MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills a must.
  • Can handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
  • Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
  • Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update schedules using MS Project to conform to project requirements and progress.
  • Kick-off meetings to align budgets, schedules, progress measurements, and change management.
  • Support Project Management with ERP budget & forecast updates after customer approved changes.
  • Support Project Management with material and labor tracking and forecasting.
  • Coordinate and compile input from team members to develop project status reporting.
  • Report on project status and material & labor budget performance.
  • Supports Finance with project cost reporting and maintenance.
  • Manage tracking and reporting of key project performance metrics.
  • Track and assist with coordination of project invoicing.
  • Monitor and report performance to validate cost and progress.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project control policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Project Management.
  • Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to travel when required.

Position Summary:

The Project Controls Technician will perform project control functions on multiple small & large, fast-moving engineering/design & custom process equipment manufacturing projects for all ABEC sites. The Project Controls Technician supports all aspects of project control and reporting, including project setup and maintenance, change management, progress measurement, cost tracking, metrics tracking and project management support. This position requires significant experience in the use of MS Project and Excel. Working knowledge of ERP systems (particularly Syteline) is desired. Experience in Biopharmaceutical industry helpful.

* This is a full-time onsite position located at our Bethlehem, PA facility. *

Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Management and senior staff to report on project status and material & labor budget performance.
  • Supports Finance with project cost reporting and maintenance.

  • Monitor and report performance and progress through analytical techniques to validate cost and performance.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project control policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Project Management.
