Job summary

Brindley Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Controls Scheduler to lead the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and related tools. You will support engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and overall project execution with strong data analysis and reporting skills.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project controls or scheduling within heavy industry, energy, or petrochemical sectors, and is willing to travel to client sites

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Project Controls, Project Scheduling, or Construction Controls experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale engineering, infrastructure, industrial, energy, petrochemical, or construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of engineering project phases: planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, closeout.
  • Experience working with clients, contractors, engineering teams, and field personnel.
  • Willingness to travel and work in office and field/site environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 to support execution activities.
  • Develop and implement project controls processes related to scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate and consolidate data into a comprehensive project controls platform for decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain baseline schedules, track performance, identify variances, and provide recovery plans.
  • Participate in weekly/monthly reviews with clients, contractors, and teams to provide schedule analysis and updates.
  • Prepare timely, accurate status reports, dashboards, forecasts, and executive-level presentations.
  • Support earned value analysis, schedule risk assessments, change management, and forecasting efforts.

Job Description:

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and results-driven professional responsible for partnering closely with Clients, Contractors, Project Managers, Engineering Teams, and Department Leadership to develop, maintain, analyze, and report on complex project schedules, budgets, forecasts, progress measurements, earned value metrics, and project performance. This role serves as a key member of the Project Controls team, ensuring projects are planned, executed, andmonitoredeffectively throughout the entire project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate willpossessextensive experience in engineering and construction project environments,demonstratedexpertisewith Primavera P6 scheduling, and a strong understanding of project controls methodologies. This position requires regular interaction with client stakeholders and will involve time spent both at client offices and active project/construction sites.A willingnessand ability to travel asrequiredis essential.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop,maintain, and analyze integrated project schedulesutilizingPrimavera P6 to support engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project execution activities.
  • Develop and implement project controls processes, procedures, and best practices related to scheduling, forecasting, progress measurement, reporting, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate andconsolidatemultiple sources of project data into a comprehensive projectcontrolsplatform to support decision-making and project execution.
  • Establish andmaintainbaseline schedules, track schedule performance,identifyvariances, and provide recovery plans and mitigation strategies whenrequired.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly project reviews with clients, contractors, project teams, and stakeholders to provide schedule analysis, forecasting, cost reporting, and project performance updates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and construction personnel tomonitorproject progress and ensure alignment with projectobjectivesand milestones.
  • Prepare and delivertimely,accurate, and meaningful project status reports, dashboards, forecasts, and executive-level presentations.
  • Support earned value analysis, schedule risk assessments, change management activities, and project forecasting efforts.
  • Ensure schedules are regularly updated and communicated to project stakeholders, subcontractors, and management teams.
  • Review and evaluate contractor schedules, progress updates, and schedule impacts.
  • Develop andmaintainproject budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to support successful project delivery.
  • Provide site support and conduct field verification as necessary tovalidateproject progress and schedule accuracy.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Controls function.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate's Degreeor higher preferred

Experience:

  • Min Yr =10
  • MaxYr = 15+
  • Minimum 10 years of Project Controls, Project Scheduling, or Construction Controls experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale engineering, infrastructure, industrial, energy, petrochemical, or construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of engineering project phases, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Experience working directly with clients, contractors, engineering teams, and field personnel.
  • Willingness to travel and work in both office and field/site environments as project needsdictate.
Technical Skills:
  • Advancedproficiencywith Primavera P6 (required).
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera Prism (preferred).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with projectcontrolssoftware and scheduling tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Power BI, and other reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of earned value management (EVM), forecasting, cost control, budgeting, and progress measurement methodologies.
  • Ability to develop, analyze, andmaintaincomplex resource-loaded schedules.
Management:
  • No direct management experience required; however, proven ability to influence, collaborate, and coordinate across multidisciplinary project teams is preferred.
