Job summary

Loenbro is seeking a Project Controls Manager to lead controls on large construction projects on-site in Afton, TX. You will implement, train, and audit all project controls functions, collaborating with PM and regional teams to deliver on time and on budget.

You will manage cost/schedule baselines, change control, forecasting, and reporting while enforcing company processes and industry best practices. Requires 5+ years in project controls and relevant software expertise.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of project controls experience on commercial/industrial construction.
  • Experience with HCSS HeavyJob or similar job costing program.
  • Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software.
  • Experience with Viewpoint or similar accounting software.
  • Experience with Heavy Bid or similar estimating software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Driver's license with a clean driving record and maintenance of such driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with the Project Management team and corporate management team and participate in regular project meetings; prepare reports and presentations as needed.
  • Identify and communicate design changes, scope changes and schedule slippages; accompany mitigations and cost/schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate with cross functional team in project setting with engineering, procurement, contracts and construction; ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Oversees project baseline process for cost, schedule and progress and ensure all project systems are implemented per process.
  • Ensure full implementation of company processes and best practices for project controls on the project.
  • Establish risk management protocol including identification, documentation, mitigation and tracking of potential risks and their cost/schedule impacts.
  • Ensure accuracy of reported progress percentage and develop progress measurement process.
  • Establish and manage project schedule development, review and update processes aligned with the master schedule.
  • Manage and ensure all project required reporting is prepared and submitted per approved reporting schedule.

Job Summary

Responsible for implementing, training, and auditing all project controls functions on large construction projects. This position works in close partnership with the Project Management and Regional Operations teams to ensure that the project is delivered on time and on budget. The primary responsibility is to support the Project Manager regarding all client facing and internal reporting. Project Controls activities include project kickoff, project tracking, productivity monitoring, update P6 man loaded, and cost loaded schedule, contract management, change order control, project billing, project forecasting, and project closeout.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Interact with the Project Management team and corporate management team and participate in regular project meetings. Gather information and prepare reports and presentations of information as needed on the project.
  • Identify and communicate design changes, scope changes and schedule slippages and potential impacts and participate in the identification of mitigations. Ensure trends of cost and schedule are identified, manage change management process and communicate and suggest corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with cross functional team in project setting, ensure project controls team members are interfacing with engineering, procurement, contracts and construction on concepts and relationships to the scope of work and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Oversees project baseline process for cost, schedule and progress and ensure all project systems are implemented according to process and company standards and procedures.
  • Ensure full implementation of company processes and procedures as well as industry best practices with regards to project controls on the project following the company process.
  • Establish risk management protocol which includes identification, documentation, mitigation and tracking of potential risks on the project. In addition, determine potential cost and schedule/progress impacts of potential risks as they are identified.
  • Ensure the accuracy of reported progress percentage based on the rules of credit established within the project. Develop progress measurement process for required scopes of work.
  • Establish and manage project schedule development, review and update processes and ensure accuracy and alignment with the overall master schedule.
  • Manage and ensure all project required reporting is pared and submitted as per approved reporting schedule for the project.
Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Project controls experience in the construction of commercial / industrial projects. Electrical experience preferred.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing program.
  • Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software.
  • Experience with Viewpoint or similar account software.
  • Experience with Heavy Bid or similar estimating software.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Driver's license with a clean driving record and maintenance of such driving record.
