Job summary

Austin Industrial in Houston seeks a Project Controls Manager to oversee project controls, mobilization, closeout, and document control for large construction projects. You will audit control systems, train teams, and ensure timely contractual notices while maintaining subcontractor relationships and site productivity.

The role focuses on cost reporting, planning, scheduling, and compliance with corporate guidelines, offering an ESOP and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
• Minimum of four years of project administration experience.
• Able to train on company software (Project Management, Scheduling, Document Control).

Responsibilities

• Monitor project controls system on projects.
• Provide project mobilization and closeout support.
• Audit the project’s control systems and ensure compliance with policy.
• Assist project teams in preparing for successful audits.
• Establish a document control process for the project including RFIs, submittals, correspondence, and meeting notes.
• Provide support for the document control process throughout the project.
• Periodic confirmation that project teams are making contractual notices timely.
• Report on untimely issuance of subcontracts.
• Setup company standard quantity tracking system.
• Develop and maintain the trust of subcontractors, ownership, and design team.
• Foster effective working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist and review project reporting in accordance with corporate guidelines.
• Analyze job cost statements and report on areas of poor cost performance.
• Review Labor Cost Reports and provide feedback to Operations.
• Review weekly man-hour productivity and evaluate anomalies.
• Assist and review project planning and scheduling in line with guidelines.

• Monitor project controls system on projects

Cost Performance

• Assist and review project reporting is in accordance with corporate guidelines
• Analyze job cost statements and report on areas of poor cost performance
• Review Labor Cost Reports at regular intervals and provide overall feedback to Operations
• Review weekly man-hour productivity from Heavy Job and evaluate anomalies

Planning/Scheduling

• Assist and review project planning and scheduling is in accordance with corporate guidelines

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field

Experience

• Minimum of four years of project administration experience
• Understand and be able to train on company software (e.g., Project Management, Scheduling, Document Control)
• Administrative competency in Lump Sum and Reimbursable projects
