As we grow our innovative solutions in the nuclear energy field, we’re excited to welcome a Project Controls Manager to our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the development of cost and schedule management programs for small modular reactor (SMR) projects from project inception through licensing, engineering, procurements and construction (EPC), start-up, test and commissioning and turnover to operations. You will collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer to ensure that all project control programs are established in accordance with project and enterprise-level procedures. Your exceptional skill will be crucial in guaranteeing our project costs and schedule performance align with baseline targets, while also incorporating processes to identify and address any variances.
With a focus on establishing state-of-the-art tools and processes, you'll be responsible for overseeing and performing project control activities and supervising the overall Project Controls effort for projects in the Elementl portfolio, in addition to overseeing the teams of project controls personnel assigned to various projects.
What you'll do!
Develop and evaluate cost and schedule baselines, track changes, performance, and variances from the plan, while ensuring consistency with Elementl's policies and strategy, and identifying critical risks.
Oversee the development, implementation, and management of the comprehensive Project Controls program for projects, and at the Elementl corporate level, ensuring consistent application and widespread integration of lessons learned and best practices.
Interface with Elementl CFO and Finance team to assure accurate and timely performance information informs budget and cost accounting activities.
Analyze and report variances in cost or schedule performance and propose mitigation plans utilizing and Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Contribute to proposal efforts for cost or scheduling activities
Oversee the project timeline, which involves identifying critical path and near-critical path activities to assist the project delivery team in managing their schedule flexibility and making informed decisions.
Manage and allocate project control resources and activities across various sites while efficiently prioritizing and utilizing the project team, including contractors.
Work together with cross-functional teams, including various project functional areas, suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders, to monitor and evaluate project performance from the planning stages all the way to the project's completion and delivery.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify innovative solutions and strategies, including application of AI in project controls systems.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on project baselines performance.
Stay updated with industry best practices, technological advances and market trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation within project development practices.
What you'll bring!
The preferred candidate will possess 7-10 years of experience in project cost and schedule management. Nuclear experience is preferred, but not required.
It is essential to have experience in Earned Value Management (EVM) System, Prima Vera P6, and MS Project.
Your excellent ability to work independently will be crucial as you manage the cost, planning/scheduling, and change management on specific projects. If you have outstanding critical thinking skills, and are motivated by keeping projects streamlined, efficient, and on budget, we’d be thrilled to hear from you!
We’re aiming to find a permanent team member for this position, but we also welcome contractors who are interested in transitioning to a full-time role as we grow. The base salary range for this role is $110,000-$200,000, and has a bonus opportunity.
