Responsibilities

The Project Controls Manager will lead all aspects of cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting for large-scale power generation and energy infrastructure projects. This role ensures accurate financial oversight, risk identification, and data-driven decision-making from project development through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and commercial operation.

Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques are utilized to track and forecast project performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and control project budgets, detailed cost estimates, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform cost tracking, variance analysis, and forecasting to support timely decision-making.
  • Prepare accurate monthly cost reports, cash flow projections, and executive-level dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support change order evaluation, claims analysis, and contract cost management within an EPC environment.
  • Integrate cost and schedule controls and monitor project progress against established performance baselines through commercial operation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and finance teams on cost performance and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company governance requirements, accounting standards, and project obligations.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 8-12+ years of project controls experience supporting large-scale EPC, industrial, energy, or power generation projects.
  • Proficiency with project controls and cost management tools, including advanced Excel, Primavera P6, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Experience utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) for project performance tracking and forecasting.
Preferred
  • PMP, CCP, or similar professional certification.
  • Direct experience supporting gas turbine, combined-cycle power generation, or other large-scale energy infrastructure projects through Commercial Operation Date (COD).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
