Job summary

Sundt Construction in Tucson, AZ is seeking an engineer to perform design evaluations and help deliver projects within budget and schedule. You’ll design, analyze, and implement plans while coordinating with teams to meet milestones.

You will review industry policies to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance, and provide technical support for the engineering process. The role offers growth and a strong, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in engineering or related field.
  • 2–4 years of related experience.
  • Ability to design, evaluate, and implement project plans.
  • Strong communication and teamwork.

Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems. Provides technical support for the engineering process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designs, implements, and communicates, an operational plan for completing the project.
  • Develops project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
  • Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project.
  • Monitors progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Prepares engineering designs and work specifications.
  • Selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
  • Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Requires a bachelor's degree.
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
  • Typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.

Physical Requirements
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  • Will interact with people and technology frequently during a shift/work day
  • Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs on an occasional basis.
  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
  • Will use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices on a frequent basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
