Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA, specializing in construction management, construction-related technology, space planning, and facilities management, seeks a Project Controls Engineer with a minimum of 1 year of experience in project controls for an on-site role in the DC metro area. The successful candidate will develop and maintain detailed construction planning schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch-lists, and other project support documents for new construction and renovation projects across the United States. Responsibilities include integrating vendor schedules with general contractor schedules, project management functions, and client advisory roles.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience on occupied building renovations, Federal, and MEP projects is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills with field and office personnel.
  • BA or BS degree in construction, architecture, or engineering is preferred; education requirements may be waived for 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires OSHA 30 and USACE QCM Certification (can be obtained after hire).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry project software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, Revit, Prolog, E-builder, P6, etc.
  • Experience coordinating with architects and engineers on design and construction documents, reviewing submittals, cost and schedule estimates, and reporting programmatic information.
  • Ability to analyze project information, communicate project status, and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract terms.
  • Strong communication, intermediate computer skills, and leadership abilities.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Maintain records of all contract correspondence in the E-Builder platform, draft responses, and analyze construction trends.
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings.
  • Review submittals for compliance, manage workflow, and keep logs of all submittals and statuses.
  • Maintain up-to-date construction documents on-site, including marked-up drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in updating project reports, perform labor standards interviews, and manage logs for RFIs and submittals.
  • Coordinate project close-out activities, including punch list resolution and change order processing.
  • Support cost proposal analysis, change management, and documentation processes.
  • Assist in office engineering functions, monitor project delays or claims, and recommend recovery solutions.
