Job summary

Global Laser Enrichment LLC is seeking a Project Controls Engineer in Wilmington, NC to design and manage forecasting, scheduling, and cost control systems for large-scale programs. You will lead EVMS development, risk models, and change control processes, while building schedules with Primavera P6 and MS Project.

The role requires 10+ years in project controls (15+ years without a degree), strong analytical and communication skills, and U.S. citizenship with DOE/NRC Q-Clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• 10+ years of project controls experience (15+ years without a degree).
• At least 4 years experience with Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of project control systems for major capital and R&D projects.
• Manage forecasting, scheduling, variance analysis, cost alignment, and performance reporting.
• Develop and maintain EVMS, risk models, and change control processes.
• Build and analyze schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, and related tools.
• Translate complex project data into actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders.
• Conduct cost analysis, burn rate tracking, and trend reporting.
• Collaborate across engineering, finance, and operations to align with goals.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy and reporting capabilities.
• Mentor others in project controls methodology and tools.
• Perform other duties to support project success.

• Collaborate across engineering, finance, and operations to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
• Mentor others in project controls methodology and tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall project success.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in project controls (or 15+ years without a degree).
• 4 years experience, at a minimum, for Primavera P6.
• Proven expertise with EVMS, schedule risk analysis, and cost forecasting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience managing complex data sets.
• Experience in PMO or large project management environments.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DOE/NRC Q-Clearance (or active clearance preferred).
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead through influence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, or related discipline.
• PMI or AACE certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP, AACE-PSP, AACE-EVP).
• Experience supporting large CAPEX or utility projects.
• Background in nuclear, energy, or high-tech industrial projects.
