Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Director for its Houston Biopharmaceutical campus expansion. This role leads multi-project financial control efforts across project lifecycles, from inception to close-out, interfacing with client teams and contractors.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required; 10+ years of related experience with leadership exposure.
  • 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling with Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Review and manage purchase orders and subcontract commitments; track funding with work authorization and expenditures.
  • Review uncommitted balances and advise on contingencies.
  • Evaluate contingency balances and provide recommendations.
  • Examine vendor invoices and progress payments for accuracy.
  • Lead the change control process.
  • Oversee project financial close-out.
  • Prepare variance analyses and expenditure forecasts.
  • Compare actual costs to funding limitations and identify critical points.
  • Participate in project cost review meetings.
  • Assist in procedure development and implementation.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and attend progress schedule meetings.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an innovative and proactive Project Controls Director, the candidate will be involved in a number of projects and project teams at the same time, at various stages of the projects’ lifecycle, from inception through close-out, varying in complexity and value. We are working with a top tier Biopharmaceutical client to expand their Houston based campus.


Responsibilities


  • Prepare monthly financial reports

  • Reviews purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures; maintains tracking database to ensure that funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures

  • Review and advise on uncommitted balances

  • Evaluate and advise on contingency balances

  • Examine vendor invoices / applications for payment

  • Lead the change control process

  • Project financial close-out

  • Evaluate productivity versus budget limitations including preparation of variance analysis

  • Compares actual cost to funding limitations; prepares expenditure forecasts to identify critical points in project funding

  • Conducts or assists in performance measurement and associated cost trending / forecasting

  • Participates in and may lead project cost review meetings

  • Assists in procedure development and implementation

  • Conduct periodic construction project site visits to monitor project progress and assure progress schedule integrity, and participate in regular progress schedule meetings with construction team


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements


  • BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

  • Knowledge of construction scheduling using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project


Preferred Qualifications


  • Impeccable verbal, written and numeracy skills in a client facing capacity

  • Ability to work under own initiative and unsupervised, but also as part of a team

  • Experience of working in process manufacturing and/or bio-pharmaceutical industries; on-site experience is preferred but not required

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Teams

  • Familiarity with business intelligence / reporting / dashboarding tools such as Power BI / Tableau

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $200000 to $220000.
