Job description

The Opportunity

The Project Controls Associate is a development-track role reporting to the Project Controls Manager, focusing on the application of core Project Controls principles: cost management, planning and scheduling, progress measurement, change management, risk management, and performance reporting in support of the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical construction and manufacturing programs.

Location: Georgia

Department: DEPTEC

The Opportunity

The Project Controls Associate is a development-track role reporting to the Project Controls Manager, focusing on the application of core Project Controls principles: cost management, planning and scheduling, progress measurement, change management, risk management, and performance reporting in support of the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical construction and manufacturing programs.

The role offers a structured office-based training rotation to build proficiency in Integra’s systems, procedures, and reporting cycle.

Upon completion of this training, the Associate will apply these skills in the field alongside construction, engineering, and project management teams. Success in this role is measured by accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of project data, and by the Associate’s progression toward independent ownership of the overall scope of work.

What you will do?
Project Controls Fundamentals
  • Support the integration of cost, schedule, and progress (the three pillars of Project Controls) into a single, reliable view of project performance.
  • Maintain project data within the approved Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
  • Apply established Standard Operating Procedures and the monthly controls calendar to ensure consistent, on-time deliverables.
Cost Management
  • Assist with budget setup, actuals loading and validation, commitment tracking, and accrual preparation.
  • Support development of the Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC), including variance identification and month-over-month movement analysis.
  • Reconcile cost data with Finance & Accounting and escalation discrepancies.
Planning, Scheduling & Progress Measurement
  • Support schedule updates, milestone tracking, and identification of schedule-driven cost impacts.
  • Collect and verify physical progress and quantity installed data from the field.
  • Maintain progress curves, quantity tracking, and productivity reporting.
Change & Risk Management
  • Maintain the change log; assist in documenting cost and schedule impacts of approved and pending changes.
  • Support the risk register, including monthly snapshots, and mitigation tracking.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare accurate, timely internal and client-facing reports, dashboards, and monthly project review materials.
  • Translate data into clear narratives: what changed, why it changed, and what action is required.
  • Foster interdisciplinary communication across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and finance throughout the project lifecycle.
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, templates, and data quality.
  • Support development and maintenance of Project Controls standard operating procedures.
What You Will Gain
  • Direct exposure to multi-billion-dollar mission-critical and hyperscale data center programs from day one.
  • A structured development path: office-based training ? field assignment ? specialization in cost, scheduling, progress, change, or risk.
  • Mentorship from senior Project Controls professionals and a defined progression track toward Cost Lead, Scheduler, or Project Controls Manager.
  • Support toward industry certification (AACE CCP/PSP/EVP or PMI-SP) and reimbursement of eligible professional dues.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools including Costpoint, Procore, Primavera P6, Power BI, and Excel.
Location, Travel, & Work Enviroment
  • Position begins in the Houston, TX office for onboarding and front-end training, with mobilization to an active project site thereafter.
  • Relocation and per diem support provided for site assignments in accordance with company policy.
  • Field assignments require the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to all site safety requirements.
  • Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, finance, supply chain, economics, or a related field.
