Responsibilities

The Project Controls Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and analysis of one major project or several smaller projects. Utilizing best practices in Project Controls, this role aims to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards that meet or exceed expectations, contributing to our company's success and customer loyalty.

The engineer will work with the project team to generate baseline schedules in P6 and set up resource and cost loading as required.

Essential functions include but are not limited to...

  • Developing, monitoring, and updating integrated project plans and schedules to optimize project execution.
  • Reviewing schedules regularly with team members to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyzing schedules from A/E firms, vendors, and contractors for integrity and impacts of change orders.
  • Performing site visits to verify physical progress.
  • Collaborating with various disciplines to ensure schedule accuracy and completeness, while maintaining independence to advise management effectively.
  • Managing multiple projects across different locations and contractors, requiring flexibility and prioritization skills.
  • Providing quality assurance and interface support regarding schedule performance tracking and reporting.

The successful candidate possesses:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of Project Controls processes and best practices is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings is essential.
  • Ability to sequence construction projects considering MEP systems.
  • Experience building schedules from drawings, renderings, or diagrams.
  • Willingness to provide examples of previous scheduling projects and explain their setup.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with scheduling and document management databases (e.g., P6, Procore).
  • Construction knowledge, including methods like concrete, ironwork, masonry, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 1-5 years of relevant construction experience.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and PPE requirements.
