The Project Controls Analyst at IREN will play a key role in capex budget management and reporting for our expanding AI Cloud services business. This position will work with the project, commercial, technology and finance team to administer the CapEx budgets, giving unique visibility into the expenditures required for our AI cloud business across Canada and the US.
Partnering across project management, engineering, construction, and commissioning, you’ll play a central role in driving execution within a fast‑growing, renewable‑powered data center platform.

Job Requirements
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years experience in accounting or cost control role.
- Prior exposure to data center, critical infrastructure, or large‑scale construction projects preferred.
- Familiarity with contract management, change order processes, and vendor cost control.
- Desired Skills
- Strong knowledge of project accounting concepts: WIP, revenue recognition, cost allocation.
- Sound knowledge of technical construction.
- Proficiency in ERP/project accounting systems (SAP experience preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Problem‑solving and proactive approach to risk management.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and track project budgets on projects, equipment orders, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Partner closely with operations, development, and construction teams to align financials with project delivery milestones.
- Own project cost tracking, actuals vs. budget reconciliation, and reporting to project managers.
- Integrate with the procurement team to anticipate material budget and cashflow variances.
- Provide financial oversight on contracts, change orders, and vendor payments to ensure accurate project cost allocation.
- Act as the finance business partner for project stakeholders, translating operational progress into clear financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and support audits or reviews related to project spend.
- Drive process improvement and cross‑functional collaboration for the end‑to‑end process around capex budget approvals, tracking, and reporting.
