Job summary

Georgia Transmission Corporation seeks a Project Controls Analyst to provide a full suite of project control services for transmission line and substation capital project teams in a matrixed environment.

Under close supervision, you will create, maintain, monitor and analyze 75+ cost and resource loaded schedules using Primavera. You will develop risk mitigation plans, communicate performance to management, assemble budgets and forecasts, and perform cost variance analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, accounting, finance or construction management is required.
• No specific years of experience required for this level.
• Willingness to pursue PMI PMP, Six Sigma, PSP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 75+ cost and resource loaded capital project schedules using Primavera.
• Develop risk mitigation plans to address cost/schedule variances.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cost variance reports for management.
• Support capital program management and annual budget development.

Job description

With close supervision & support, provide a full suite of project control services to transmission line and substation capital project teams in a matrixed environment. Create, maintain, monitor and analyze 75+ cost and resource loaded capital project schedules using Primavera Project Management software. Develop risk mitigation action plans to correct negative trends in cost and schedule. Communicate performance to management and project team. Assemble project budgets & develop on-going forecasts. Perform cost variance analysis & reporting. Support GTC Capital Program management function, in particular the development of GTC's annual Capital Program budget. Prepare project close-out documents and provide analysis of results of each project.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or Construction Management.

Experience: No years of project controls-related or financial analysis experience at this level.

Equivalent Experience: A mixture of Bachelor degrees from other majors, plus work experience will be considered.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Be willing to pursue registration as a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma Certification, and/or AACE Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP).

Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Must be able to quickly gain advanced proficiency in Primavera Project Management software. Experience with Primavera or MS Project is preferred. Must have strong interpersonal & communication skills. Must have strong technical competency and analytical ability. Must have advanced skill with MS Office Excel and be proficient with the MS Office Professional Suite (Word, PowerPoint). Experience with relational databases (SQL/Access/Power BI) is also preferred.
