Working closely with project leadership, field operations, and construction management teams, this position will help drive financial visibility, budget adherence, and informed decision‑making throughout the project lifecycle.

Position Summary

The Project Controls Manager will lead all project cost control, forecasting, reporting, and financial tracking activities. This individual will serve as a key business partner to project leadership, ensuring accurate cost visibility and supporting proactive management of project performance.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in cost-focused project controls within heavy civil, industrial, energy, power, or infrastructure construction environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project cost controls, forecasting, and financial reporting efforts across multiple construction scopes
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project budgets and cost tracking systems
  • Support Earned Value Management (EVM) and project performance measurement
  • Monitor project commitments, expenditures, and cost trends against budget forecasts
  • Prepare detailed cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for project leadership
  • Track, analyze, and document change orders and project impacts
  • Collaborate with project management, field leadership, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting
  • Support cash flow forecasting and cost-to-complete projections
  • Maintain project controls systems and ensure data integrity across reporting platforms
  • Identify project risks and potential cost or schedule impacts, providing mitigation recommendations
  • Deliver clear financial insights and reporting to support executive decision-making
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Project Controls experience, with a strong emphasis on cost controls
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction projects, preferably $50M+
  • Background in heavy civil, industrial, energy, infrastructure, EPC, or power construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of cost control methodologies, forecasting, budgeting, change management, and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience working directly with field-based construction teams and project leadership
  • Proficiency with project controls software such as Primavera P6, SAP, EcoSys, Prism, Oracle, or similar platforms

  • Comfortable interacting with both executive leadership and field operations teams
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently
  • Background in industrial, power, energy, EPC, or heavy civil construction projects preferred
