A fully competent professional in all conventional aspects of the subject matter of the assignment, capable of independently performing assignments with instructions on the expected results. The Project Engineer receives technical guidance from the Department Manager, Chief Engineer, and/or Senior Project Engineer. The Project Engineer plans, schedules, and coordinates detailed phase work, requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. The Project Engineer directly supervises personnel assigned to their project team, maintaining good relations and ensuring their professional growth. Regular client contact is essential to monitor daily operations.

Required Experience
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • Valid driver's license
  • Registered professional engineer (P.E.)
  • Five to 10 years of professional experience in consulting engineering and design industry
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Teamwork skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of other disciplines involved in multi-disciplinary projects
  • Professional experience to ensure competence as a fully trained engineer
  • Prepare construction plans, estimates, specifications, and bid documents for local municipalities following applicable standards
  • Estimate project timelines and costs
  • Assist in proposal presentations and project team selection
  • Make major design decisions with client input, such as setbacks, roadway locations, utility routes
  • Assign duties, answer questions, and monitor project team progress
  • Check accuracy of work
  • Maintain client relationships throughout project development and beyond
  • Monitor construction activities
  • Review and recommend change orders
  • Ensure timely and accurate project completion
