Job summary

Facil North America in Independence, Ohio is seeking an experienced Project Buyer to lead sourcing for projects at our North American Headquarters. You will manage commodity development, RFQ processes, and ongoing cost-saving initiatives while coordinating with Purchasing, SDE, and Operations.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the automotive sector, with strong negotiation, analytical, and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent by experience.
• 2–5 years of purchase experience, preferably in automotive.
• ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 experience a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical abilities; multi-project focus.

Responsibilities

• Source all commodities for projects.
• Drive cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
• Request RFQs from suppliers and manage supplier selections.
• Collaborate with SDE and Operations to identify sourcing weaknesses.

Position Summary:

Our Buyers are responsible for sourcing, strategic commodity development, and the monitoring and execution of the purchasing process. Additionally, a Buyer is responsible for initiating and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for cost, quality, and delivery. This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager, North America and works closely with the FSP and Operations departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for sourcing of all commodities in projects
• Responsible for savings and following resources PPCN/SREA
• Responsible for sourcing of new parts
• Responsible for requesting RFQ’s at the correct suppliers
• Responsible for savings
• Close cooperation with SDE in indicating the weak points in the sourcing commodities
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Master or minimum bachelor’s degree or equal by experience
• 2 to 5 years of purchase experience, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Technical interest is required, mechanical or material knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge of relevant quality standards required; experience with ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, and/or others a plus.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including excellent negotiation skills illustrated by successfully meeting and/or exceeding expectations on pricing/rates, terms, and other deliverables.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; proven track record of building and maintaining relationships while balancing short-term needs and long-term objectives.
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities; ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex information and apply to practical situations.
• Proven history of personal initiative, efficiency, attention to detail, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and performing quality work within deadlines with or without supervision.
• PC proficiency required, including MS Office and advanced Excel skills. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) package is a required. Knowledge of other industry-specific or custom software is a plus.
