Job summary

VLMK Engineering + Design in Portland, OR, seeks a Project Architect with 4+ years of experience to lead building design, permit documentation, and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams on industrial projects.

You will prepare construction documents, renderings, and presentations, work closely with clients, and progress from planning through construction administration within a collaborative office culture.

Qualifications

• Requires NAAB-Accredited Degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• Active licensure or progress toward licensure preferred (OR/WA).
• Minimum four years of experience in building construction documents, permits, and project coordination.
• Resident of or near the Portland-Vancouver metro area; strong knowledge of IBC/ASHRAE codes.

VLMK's team of registered design professionals in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Architecture provide engineering and design services to clients from offices in Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. As the Prime design consultant, VLMK's proven full-service design approach has supported Owners, Developers, and Users in the development of millions of square feet of commercial and light-industrial space including warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing facilities.

MUST have:

• Education
  • NAAB-Accredited Degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• Licensure
  • Candidates should be actively working towards licensure, e.g.enrolled in the NCARB AXP program, taking ARE exams, etc.
  • Registered Architect in OR or WA strongly preferred
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience preparing building construction documents, permit and construction administration, and coordinating with consultants and clients.
• Reside in or near the Portland-Vancouver metroarea.
• Ability to prioritize and successfully complete multiple assignments, for multiple projects, in a fast-paced work environment.
• Good working knowledge of building code requirements (IBC, IECC/ASHRAE, etc.).
• Proficient in Revit and be familiar with AutoCAD.

Nice to have:

• Experience with 3D modeling and rendering applications (SketchUp, 3d Max, Illustrator, etc.)
• Extensive industrial building design experience.
• A friendly and outgoing personality.
