Position Summary
The Project Architect is responsible for the technical design, documentation, coordination, and delivery of multifamily and mixed-use projects from concept through construction administration. Working under the direction of a Principal or Senior Project Manager, this role translates design intent into coordinated, code-compliant, and buildable solutions.
The Project Architect serves as the day-to-day architectural and technical lead for assigned projects. The position works closely with internal project teams, consultants, clients, and contractors to maintain drawing quality, resolve technical issues, meet project milestones, and support successful project delivery. This is a hands-on role requiring strong Revit proficiency, sound knowledge of construction systems and codes, attention to detail, and clear communication.
This position is based in person in the Tampa office and may include opportunities to collaborate with teams across multiple offices.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Project Delivery
- Support the delivery of multifamily and mixed-use projects through schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
- Develop design concepts into technically sound, coordinated, and buildable architectural solutions while maintaining the established design intent.
- Produce, coordinate, and review architectural drawings, details, specifications, and project documentation.
- Participate in internal design and quality-control reviews and apply firm standards for quality, consistency, and documentation.
- Identify design, technical, and coordination issues early and work with the project team to develop appropriate solutions.
- Assist with project planning, deliverable preparation, and milestone coordination to help maintain project schedules.
Technical Documentation and BIM Coordination
- Lead or contribute substantially to the production and coordination of construction documents using Revit.
- Ensure architectural drawings and specifications are complete, accurate, coordinated, and compliant with applicable building codes and regulations.
- Maintain organized, accurate project files and support consistent BIM workflows, model coordination, and documentation standards.
- Coordinate architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, landscape, and specialty consultants.
- Apply working knowledge of podium construction; experience with wood-frame construction is preferred, and concrete construction experience is a plus.
- Use Bluebeam for document review, markup, coordination, and quality-control activities.
Consultant, Client, and Construction Coordination
- Serve as a key architectural contact for consultant coordination on assigned projects.
- Participate in client meetings, consultant meetings, and project coordination discussions as needed.
- Track and help resolve coordination items, consultant comments, and documentation issues in a timely manner.
- Support construction administration activities, including reviewing RFIs and submittals, preparing responses and supplemental information, participating in site visits, and assisting with field coordination.
- Communicate project status, technical concerns, and proposed solutions clearly to project leadership and team members.
Team Collaboration and Professional Growth
- Collaborate effectively with Principals, Project Managers, Designers, and junior staff across project teams.
- Provide technical guidance, direction, and feedback to Staff Designers and junior team members as appropriate.
- Review delegated work for quality, coordination, and adherence to project standards.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, respectful, and solutions-oriented studio environment.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Five to seven years of professional architectural experience, preferably including multifamily and mixed-use projects.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and coordinating construction documents across project phases.
- Strong working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, construction detailing, and document coordination.
- Experience with podium-style buildings.
- Proficiency in Revit, including its use throughout design and construction-documentation phases.
- Working proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, SketchUp, and Enscape.
- Strong organizational, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound professional judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Architectural licensure in Florida or active progress toward licensure.
- Experience supporting projects through construction administration.
- Strong understanding of wood-frame and concrete construction systems.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor junior staff.
- Interest in continued technical, project-delivery, and leadership growth within an architecture and urban design firm.
