Job summary

INC Architecture & Design, a multi-disciplinary studio in the SoHo district of New York City, seeks an Architect with 5-7 years of experience.

The role involves technical design, project coordination, Revit modeling, and contract administration across multiple concurrent projects, with supervision of junior staff and collaboration with partners. NYC code knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters of Architecture from an NAAB accredited institution.
• 5-10 years professional experience.
• At least 4 years of professional Revit experience.
• Candidates must be legally allowed to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Design specific technical aspects and independently decide on design solutions.
• Supervise client interaction and coordinate with consultants.
• Plan schematic blocks.
• Manage Building Information Model (Revit) and coordinate consultants.
• Prepare and manage contract documents and specifications.
• Oversee bidding, pricing documentation, and negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with NYC codes and regulatory filings.
• Handle submittals, RFIs, site meetings, and field reports; report to Directors; supervise junior staff.

Summary

INC is seeking a full-time Architect (may be non-licensed) with 5-7 years of professional experience and a B. Arch or M. Arch with strong technical skills and exceptional organizational skills. Applicants should have experience in filing documentation, high-end design or residential or hospitality experience, and Contract Administration experience. Applicants should also be able to work independently with a wide range of consultants under the supervision of one or more Partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for specific technical design aspects of projects including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions and can independently make decisions on design problems and methods.

• Schematic blocking and planning
• Building Information Model Management (Revit)
• Consultant coordination and management
• Contract Document management and production
• Specifications management and production
• Executes and manages regulatory filing paperwork and has experience managing expediters and other codes consultants.
• Production and management of bidding and pricing documentation and negotiations
• Understands and implements NYC codes.
• Contract Administration: submittals, requests for information, site meetings, and field reports.
• Reports to Directors
• Supervises 1-3 junior staff
• May work on up to 2-3 simultaneous projects at different phases of development.

Studio Description

INC Architecture & Design is a multi-disciplinary Architecture and Design studio, with experience in a wide range of project types located in the SoHo District of New York City. Having executed high-rise residential buildings, hotels, restaurants, galleries, retail stores, private residences, and private residential interiors, the studio specializes in the integration of architecture and interior design.
