Job description

Overview

We are seeking a licensed Project Architect who wants to lead projects, influence design decisions, work directly with clients, and play a visible role within a collaborative architecture practice.

Role: Project Architect III

Location: Tennessee

Work Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Overview

We are seeking a licensed Project Architect who wants to lead projects, influence design decisions, work directly with clients, and play a visible role within a collaborative architecture practice.

This is not a production-only role. You will lead commercial projects from concept through construction, participate in design development, coordinate consultants, present ideas to clients, and mentor junior staff. You'll work closely with leadership while building the experience needed to advance into a Senior Architect role.

This is a full-time, in-office opportunity for architects who value collaboration, mentorship, and direct engagement with clients and project teams. Our studio culture is highly interactive, and we believe the best design solutions emerge through consistent collaboration and shared problem-solving.

If you're looking for a position where your responsibilities stop at documentation, this isn't it. If you want project ownership, client exposure, design involvement, and a clear path toward senior leadership, we'd love to hear from you.

Education/Experience
  • Licensed Architect (Tennessee license or ability to obtain reciprocity).
  • 8+ years of commercial architecture experience.
  • Experience leading projects through multiple phases of delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams.
  • Construction administration experience is preferred.
  • Hospitality project experience (hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues) is preferred.
  • Mixed-use or urban commercial project experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in a small, collaborative architecture firm is a plus.
  • Client presentation and relationship management experience is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
  • Strong project leadership and organizational skills.
  • Advanced Revit and architectural documentation experience.
  • Knowledge of schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Experience coordinating Structural, MEP, Civil, and specialty consultants.
  • Strong understanding of constructability and technical documentation.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong client presentation and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to mentor and support junior architects and designers.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership
  • Lead projects from programming and schematic design through construction administration.
  • Manage project schedules, coordination, and deliverables.
  • Oversee one to three projects simultaneously, depending on project size and phase.
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and technical accuracy throughout project delivery.
Design & Client Engagement
  • Participate in design concept development and project storytelling.
  • Create and present design solutions internally and to clients.
  • Translate design intent into clear, buildable architectural documentation.
  • Build trusted client relationships through consistent communication and leadership.

  • Resolve interdisciplinary conflicts and technical challenges.
  • Lead coordination meetings and manage consultant deliverables.

  • Support successful project execution through construction completion.
