Role description:

The early-career architectural professional supports project teams through programming, design, documentation, permitting, construction administration, and closeout. Working under the guidance of project architects, project managers, and senior designers, this role contributes to coordinated project deliverables, participates in consultant and client communication, and develops practical knowledge of codes, building systems, materials, and construction. The successful candidate is curious, organized, receptive to feedback, and committed to producing thoughtful, accurate work while continuing to grow professionally.

Role accountabilities:
  • Support architectural projects from programming and concept design through construction documentation, construction administration, and closeout.
  • Prepare and revise plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, diagrams, presentations, and other project deliverables under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Develop coordinated Revit models and drawing sets in accordance with established project standards and quality procedures.
  • Assist with research related to building codes, accessibility requirements, zoning, materials, products, and building systems.
  • Coordinate architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, landscape, and specialty consultants.
  • Participate in internal project meetings, design reviews, consultant coordination meetings, and client presentations; document decisions and follow-up items as assigned.
  • Incorporate review comments and feedback into models, drawings, and other project documents accurately and promptly.
  • Assist with construction-phase services, including site observations, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
  • Maintain organized project files and support the timely completion of assigned tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, ask questions when direction is needed, and raise coordination or technical concerns promptly.
  • Contribute ideas that advance design quality, sustainability, inclusivity, and the needs of project users.
  • Participate in professional development, mentorship, and licensure activities while building increased responsibility over time.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Up to two years of relevant experience through internships, summer employment, or professional practice preferred.
  • Registered architect or actively pursuing architectural registration.
  • Foundational knowledge of architectural design, building construction, detailing, building codes, accessibility, and construction documentation.
  • Ability to interpret design direction, develop work with guidance, incorporate feedback, and communicate questions or concerns clearly.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working proficiency in Revit and familiarity with Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite and related project collaboration tools.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design thinking, technical development, communication skills, and contribution to academic, internship, or professional projects.
  • Interest in educational architecture, particularly K–12 and higher education environments, preferred.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $91,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
