Job summary

SmithGroup, Los Angeles office, is seeking a Project Architect for Corporate, Commercial, & Civic projects. You will lead architect teams, develop construction documents, and manage construction administration while mentoring staff.

Ideal candidates hold a Architecture degree, 10+ years' experience, and are registered. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe tools is required. Hybrid work, PTO, holidays, and robust benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
• LEED AP preferred; Architectural Registration required.
• Working knowledge of engineering systems; multi-disciplinary engagement.
• Strong client communication and trust-building.
• Mentoring and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Experience leading other architects and project teams.
• Understanding of code implementation and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of architects to complete technical documents for complex projects.
• Prepare, coordinate, and complete construction documents packages.
• Oversee day-to-day construction administration with contractors and consultants.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee work quality.
• Establish project work plans and staffing requirements.
• Develop relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Participate in recruiting and performance management.
• Meet with owners and user groups to determine program requirements.
