Description

Helix Design Group, a division of Shive-Hattery, located in Tacoma, WA, has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level Architect.

Required Experience:

  • Mid-level position suitable for individuals with 5 to 10 years of experience in architecture.
  • Completion of an accredited professional degree program with a bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, or equivalent education and experience. Registration as an architect is required.
  • Ability to manage and supervise project teams of architects, engineers, and designers on medium and large projects.
  • Strong aptitude in critical and creative thinking related to design and the design process.
  • Comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety codes, and current ADA requirements.
  • Knowledge of programming, planning, building materials, systems, and performance.
  • Proficient in designing with an understanding of building systems; capable of handling projects for high-quality clients.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills; proficient in Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Google SketchUp is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in design and project management, including discussions, idea generation, collaboration, drawing, modeling, and 3D imaging.
  • Lead non-licensed professionals in designing, producing, and coordinating technical documents.
  • Create graphical images and detailed designs in Revit.
  • Attend project and client meetings to support business development and project execution.
