Job summary

FORMARCH Architecture + Interiors, based in New York, is seeking a Project Architect with 5-7+ years of experience in high-end residential projects. The candidate will manage design development through construction administration and coordinate with clients, vendors, and contractors.

You should be highly organized, proactive, and able to work both independently and with a team in a design-led studio. A NY-based candidate authorized to work in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• Strong 3D modeling and rendering skills (3DS Max, Forest Pack, SketchUp, V-Ray)

• Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors
• Familiarity with NYC building codes and materials

Responsibilities

• Lead project architecture from schematic design through construction administration.
• Prepare design presentations and construction documents.
• Review shop drawings and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Research and select architectural materials, systems, fixtures, and equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team across all project phases.

Formarch is a New York–based Interior Design and Architecture firm specializing in high-end residential projects in NYC, the Hamptons, and globally. Our work is grounded in a deep respect for materiality, proportion, and place — with an emphasis on thoughtful detailing and spatial clarity. We are a tight-knit, collaborative team of architects and designers who value creativity, craftsmanship, and curiosity throughout every phase of the design process.

The Role:

We’re looking for a creative, independent, and personable Project Architect to join our studio. The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of experience in high-end residential architecture, with a strong design sensibility, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You must be highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working across all phases of a project—from schematic design through construction administration.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 5-7+ years of relevant experience in residential architecture
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Strong 3D modeling skills (3DS Max, Forest Pack, SketchUp — please specify your preferred tools)
• Rendering experience (V-Ray for 3DS Max and/or V-Ray/Podium for SketchUp)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Acrobat)
• Strong experience producing design presentations, construction documents, and detailed drawing sets
• Familiarity with NYC building codes, materials, and architectural detailing
• Experience reviewing shop drawings and coordinating with vendors and contractors
• Research and selection of architectural materials, systems, fixtures, and equipment
• Detail- and service-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
• Must be New York-based and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience and skill set.

Schedule:

Full time in office with one day per week remote.
