Job summary

WATG in Atlantic City is seeking a Project Architect to lead design delivery for hospitality projects, coordinating the technical content, BIM implementation, and interdisciplinary collaboration from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, professional licensure, 10+ years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino and SketchUp, plus strong mentoring and client management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Professional license required.
• Environmental accreditation preferred.
• 10+ years of experience designing small to mid-size architectural projects, including urban and resort hotels.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling software, such as Rhino and SketchUp.
• Sketching skills required.
• Knowledge of architectural building systems, integrated design, trends, construction methodology, QA/QC process, CA process, building codes, and the ability to research and apply to technical documents.
• Experienced in client management, project management, and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed project documentation.
• Monitors the design process from the conceptual phase through construction administration, and validates that the design idea is consistent and properly executed.
• Responsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of a project or projects, including the coordination of drawings and specifications.
• Checks completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
• Coordinates use and tracks shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultants.
• Writes reports and documentation to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions.
• Prepares meeting minutes of consultant coordination meetings.
• Manages project documents and identifies the sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM)
• Manages standards
• Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team
• Coordinates communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements, providing support when necessary
• Manages construction detail documentation so that it conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards
• Supervises the preparation of technical drawings by other less senior-level architects or team members
• Prepares meeting minutes
• Performs as team leader on certain projects
• Mentors and directs the work of team members, reviews their work, and provides development opportunities
• Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects

WATG is hiring a Project Architect for our office in Atlantic City.

ROLE

Licensed Architect accountable to the Project Manager and Project Designer for project performance and team communications. The Project Architect is responsible for project deliverables, the technical content of documents, the implementation of comments, QA reviews, and the coordination of disciplines, including consultants. The Project Architect directs the work assignments of a diverse project team as well as coordinates with clients, consultants, and contractors.

JOB INFORMATION

• The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience.
