Job summary

TechOps Specialty Vehicles seeks a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting, including accounts receivable, general ledger, project accounting, and backups for accounts payable. The role reports to the Controller and collaborates with the accounting team in Stevensville, Maryland.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree, 3+ years of accounting experience, and proficiency with ERP systems and Excel, enabling accurate financial records and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (bachelor’s preferred).
• 3+ years accounting experience.
• Experience with ERP systems and learning new software.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounts receivable activities including invoicing and cash receipts.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance-sheet accounts.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Analyze project costs, job profitability, and project financial activity.
• Provide backup support for accounts payable and assist in internal controls.
