Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is seeking a highly motivated engineering student or recent graduate to join us as a Project and Race Support Engineer Spring 2027 - Intern.

The ideal candidate is expected to have a basic understanding of vehicle dynamics, problem-solving, data analysis, reporting, resource coordination, and project management concepts. In this role, the candidate will work proactively and professionally to cultivate relationships and improve performance through analytical thinking and strong organizational skills.

The Project and Race Support Engineer Intern must be able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong work ethic and integrity. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, flexible availability, and an interest in engineering and mechanical principles are essential.

The ideal candidate will support race engineers on various tasks and be responsible for independent projects and competition-related activities during race weekends.

Essential Function(s):
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan and execute projects as needed

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
  • Enrolled in a 4-year program pursuing an Engineering related degree or currently possess an engineering or technical-related degree
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must be at least a junior or third-year student in the degree program being pursued
Computer Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of managing large datasets and quickly prototyping solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management
  • Basic knowledge of analytical tools and programming skills
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Duration: 5 – 12 months
  • Work Schedule: Weekdays from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm typically, with weekend support during practice, qualifying and race events
