Job summary

Project Analyst II

Department: Product Innovation and Solutions

Reports to: Director of Product Innovation and Solutions

Job Summary: The Project Analyst II supports the successful delivery of cross‑functional initiatives across the credit union by coordinating project activities, tracking performance, and assessing progress to support informed decision‑making. This role operates with moderate independence and serves as a key liaison across departments, ensuring projects align with organizational goals, regulatory expectations, and operational priorities. The Project Analyst II contributes to project execution and continuous improvement efforts, particularly within digital banking, payments, and core operational environments. Applies sound judgment in identifying risks, prioritizing work, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Track project progress, milestones, risks, and dependencies, proactively identifying variances and escalating as needed.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional activities with Operations, Member Services, Marketing, and external vendors.
  • Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and ensure alignment on next steps and priorities.
  • Gather and document business processes, workflows, and requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment with operational needs.
  • Assist with implementation of process changes, system updates, and operational improvements.
  • Support testing efforts by preparing materials, tracking execution, and documenting outcomes.
  • Analyze data, user feedback, and operational metrics to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities, and summarize insights to support decision‑making.
  • Identify, monitor, and communicate project risks, issues, and delays; evaluate potential impacts and recommend appropriate next steps.
  • Support adherence to regulatory and operational requirements, including internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, workflows, and project changes in alignment with credit union standards.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, alignment on expectations, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Assist with managing vendor interactions, tracking documentation, and maintaining communication.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments to support effective collaboration.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements to enhance operational performance and member experience.
  • Prepare project status updates, reports, and summaries highlighting progress, risks, and key outcomes, including relevant insights and suggested actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project coordination practices and tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education/Skill/Work Experience Requirements

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of project coordination principles and best practices, including tracking timelines, risks, and deliverables.
  • Working understanding of credit union operations, including deposits, lending, payments, and member services.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify key insights, and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment in evaluating risks, prioritizing work, and supporting decision‑making.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements to enhance operational performance and member experience.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams, with a proactive and detail‑oriented approach.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination, project support, or related roles.
  • Experience within financial services, fintech or credit union environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting operational initiatives, process improvements, or cross‑functional projects.
  • Exposure to vendor coordination and multi‑department collaboration.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in project coordination or process improvement are a plus. CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management); PMP (Project Management Professional); Certified Scrum Master (CSM); Lean / Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
