Base Electron seeks a highly driven Manager of Asset Development to support end-to-end power project development. This role focuses on Owner’s Representative functions, advancing projects from early development to commercial operation with emphasis on site control, interconnection, permitting, and EPC coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of power project development experience with a focus on thermal or dispatchable generation assets.
• Experience supporting projects from site control through commercial operation.
• Strong understanding of interconnection processes across major markets (MISO, ERCOT, PJM, SPP).
• Experience with EPC contractors and supporting an Owner’s Representative function.
• Proven ability to support multiple complex workstreams within a single project environment.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the full lifecycle development of generation assets from origination through commercial operation, under the direction of the VP/Directors.
• Support site selection, land control (leases, purchases, easements), and local stakeholder engagement.
• Coordinate environmental diligence, permitting activities, and regulatory approvals.
• Support interconnection strategy including filings, queue management, and coordination with ISOs/RTOs and utilities.
• Help define project scope, basis of design, and technical requirements in collaboration with OEM and engineering partners.
• Support EPC strategy including contractor prequalification, RFP execution, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation.
• Support the Owner’s Representative function through pre-construction, helping ensure alignment on engineering, schedule, cost, and risk.
• Support tracking and reporting of project schedule, budget, and risk.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts across Commercial, Legal, Finance, EHS, and Engineering teams.
• Support commercial structuring efforts (PPA, capacity, tolling, or merchant strategies) to ensure project viability.
• Assist Finance with project budgets, investment materials, and diligence packages.
• Manage relationships with utilities, EPC firms, consultants, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
• Support company representation in negotiations, public forums, and regulatory proceedings as needed.

Focus: Plant Development (Supporting Director-Level Oversight) and new projects

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Manager of Asset Development to support the end-to-end development of power generation projects.

This individual will support the Owner’s Representative function, helping advance the project from early-stage development through plant commercial operation. The role encompasses supporting site control, interconnection, permitting, engineering coordination, commercial alignment, and EPC execution activities under the direction of the VP and Directors – Development & Asset Management.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical and commercial acumen with a proven ability to support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects in a dynamic, capital-efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience within an IPP, utility, developer, or energy infrastructure platform.

• Background in both technical development and commercial structuring.
• MBA or advanced technical degree.
