Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Merritt Island, FL, is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead design teams, manage schedule, budget, and scope on large industrial or aerospace facilities.

The role requires a BS, 3+ years PM experience, DoD/Aerospace project exposure, and strong skills in earned value, risk management, and communication. Travel to US sites is required, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited BS degree.
• 5–7 years technical experience in an engineering/construction environment preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years project management experience (DoD/Aerospace projects preferred).
• Proficient in critical path, negotiation, cost control, cost estimating, risk management, contract management, and communication.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and invoicing.
• Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification desired.
• Project management certification preferred (IAPM or PMP).
• Proficient with Microsoft: Windows, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Familiar with Bluebeam, SharePoint, SpecsIntact, RSMeans, CAD, Revit and Creo.
• Current US Passport.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review project requirements and obtain clarification on any conflicting, missing, or vague items.
• Plan project activities, costs, and schedules based on team inputs and client scopes.
• Collaborate with the project team to create proposals based on client and company expectations.
• Initiate newly awarded projects with team and client stakeholders and establish the performance baselines.
• Interface with clients, locations, and information that may be of sensitive or secure nature.
• Manage the design team to ensure production of complete, timely, quality deliverables within budget.
• Manage all project related meetings and coordinate with the project coordinator keep minutes.
• Control project scope when issues or changes surface and coordinate the changes with company management and clients.
• Closeout design projects ensuring all deliverable have be provided and project documentation is complete.
• Track lessons learned and communicate with management to support continuous improvements in company processes.
• Communicate and coordinate with Salas O’Brien Engineering leadership on project status.
• Promote and represent the firm in a professional manner.

Job Summary: The Engineering Project Manager is a member of the technical staff and fills a pivotal role as a design team leader who effectively manages schedule, budget, and technical scope to reduce risk and manage dynamic and changing projects. The ideal candidate would be a detail-oriented professional who also has problem-solving project manager experience on large industrial or aerospace facility or equipment design projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree
• 5-7 years Technical Experience in an engineering/construction environment preferred
• Minimum of 3 years Project Management Experience (DoD/Aerospace projects preferred)
• Proficient in project management skillsets like critical path, negotiation, cost control, cost estimating, risk management, contract management, and communication

Travel: Some travel to US sites.

The expected base salary range for this role in Merritt Island is $70,000 - $105,000USD per year and in Bethesda is $95,000-$120,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
