Job summary

Trane Technologies in Roanoke is seeking a billing administrator to set up service agreements, review invoices, and manage costs across projects. You will collaborate with Account Managers, Technicians, and customers to ensure timely and accurate billing.

The role requires strong communication, ability to prioritize tasks, and flexibility to work onsite with some remote coordination options. Overtime and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school with 3+ years of billing experience or equivalent.
• Open to candidates without a 4-year degree; emphasis on practical experience and leadership alignment.
• Experience with lean improvements activities and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up service agreements and quoted projects in the system from transition documents.
• Review and update Billing Backlog reports daily and ensure invoice accuracy.
• Process service invoices and apply costs to work orders with precision.
• Coordinate with team members for timely recording of project costs including materials and labor.
• Handle purchase orders, billing changes, and related customer requirements.

Where is the work:

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

Responsibilities

include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Sets-up service agreements and/or quoted projects/jobs in system application based on transition documents.
• Reviews and updates Billing Backlog reports daily.
• Review invoices for accuracy, and processes service invoices for assigned job types.
• Validates, applies and posts applicable costs to service work orders.
• Coordinates with various team members for accurate and timely recording of project costs, including materials, time sheets, labor hour allocation, daily reports, etc.
• Enters and edits Purchase Orders as needed.
• Handle billing request changes and special requirements for customers timely.
• Responsible for general administrative functions, as it relates to billing.
• Responsible for generating, interpreting, and printing various assigned reports.
• Prioritize and organize tasks to meet timing requirements or deadlines.
• Communicates with Account Managers, Field Technicians, Customers, Area Service Managers and other internal team members, as necessary to resolve obstacles or answer inquiries regarding billing.
• Schedule and participate in internal project team meetings to ensure accurate transfer of information.
• Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
• May reconcile purchasing card transactions for technicians.
• May file appropriate State required forms as needed.
• May prepare claims for filing.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school and three (3) plus years of related billing experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
• Participate in and contribute to lean improvements activities.
• Must have strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high-paced environment.
• Familiarity with the operation of HVAC Systems preferred not required.
• Flexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as required.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$50,350.00 - $70,770.00
