Redrock Entertainment, a leading end-to-end entertainment production and management company in California, seeks a Project Accounting Manager. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience with significant project accounting exposure.
  • Entertainment, live events or media experience is preferred; cross-entity experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial operations for multiple concurrent productions.
  • Own AP/AR cycle for assigned productions with proper approvals.
  • Own cost reconciliation and closeout for each production against budget.
  • Track project costs in real time and identify variances.
  • Produce and present accurate financial reports.
  • Apply GAAP to revenue recognition on client deposits and advances.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Coordinate audit preparation and act as primary contact for auditors.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Production, Operations and other partners.

Position Description:

The Project Accounting Manager owns the financial operations of multiple concurrent productions, project budgets, cost tracking, and financial reporting, and serves as the primary financial contact for production leads. This role is accountable for the financial integrity of every assigned production and ensures leadership has accurate, timely visibility into project financials.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage successful financial operations for multiple concurrent productions.
  • Own AP/AR cycle for assigned productions. Ensure accuracy, proper approvals, and timely processing.
  • Own cost reconciliation and closeout for each assigned production, from active tracking through final reconciliation against budget.
  • Own project cost tracking across all assigned productions. Monitor actuals in real time, reconcile against budgets, and proactively identify variances.
  • Produce and present accurate financial reports.
  • Apply GAAP and company policy to revenue recognition on client deposits and advance production payments.
  • Manage budgets, prepare forecasts and variance analyses, and present budget performance to leadership.
  • Ensure all accounting activity complies with GAAP and company policy.
  • Coordinate audit preparation, review documentation for completeness, and serve as a primary contact for auditors.
  • Serve as the primary financial contact for Production leads, communicating proactively.
  • Coordinate effectively across Finance, Production, Operations, and other internal partners.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Coach junior staff: share knowledge, give constructive feedback, and help staff develop their skills and confidence on the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience. Significant project accounting exposure required.
  • Entertainment, live events, or media experience preferred. Experience working across multiple business entities a plus. Experience managing project finances across multiple concurrent productions highly valued.
  • Advanced Excel skills. Proficiency in Oracle, QuickBooks, Ramp. Experience with Airtable or Salesforce a plus.
