Job summary

Primary Services is seeking a Project Accounting Analyst to provide hands-on exposure to project costing, margins, and multi-entity financial activity within a global industrial technology leader.

You will support month-end close, accruals, forecasting, intercompany transactions, and management reporting, partnering with business units to improve profitability and reporting accuracy across international operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 4+ years of professional accounting/finance experience with 3+ years in financial analysis.
• Experience with GL reconciliations, variance analysis, accruals, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly and annual close activities for assigned business areas.
• Perform month-end closing across project, purchasing, and inventory modules.
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze project costs, margins, and overall profitability.
• Conduct variance analysis and adjust as needed with stakeholders.
• Review project accruals and intercompany transactions.
• Consolidate results and prepare management reports.
• Monitor multi-currency transactions and foreign subsidiaries activities.
• Support international operations and project-based financial reporting.

The Project Accounting Analyst will support a complex global business through a combination of financial analysis, project accounting, and corporate accounting. This role will take an active part in project costing, contribution margin analysis, accruals, forecasting, intercompany activity, and month‑end close while helping business leaders understand variances and improve project profitability.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly and annual financial close activities for assigned business areas.
• Perform month-end closing activities across project, purchasing, and inventory modules.
• Reconcile high-volume and high-value General Ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze project costs, sales, cost of sales, contribution margins, and overall profitability.
• Perform variance analysis and identify necessary financial adjustments with business unit stakeholders.
• Review project accruals, unbilled accounts receivable, and project close activities.
• Analyze intercompany sales and contribution margin allocations across multiple entities.
• Consolidate monthly results and prepare financial data for management reporting.
• Monitor multi-currency transactions and their impact on projects and General Ledger accounts.
• Review financial activities involving foreign branches and subsidiaries.
• Analyze major expense accounts, warranty reserves, and concession costs for significant variances.
• Partner directly with business units to investigate financial issues and improve reporting accuracy.
• Support financial and tax analysis involving international operations and foreign entities.
• Assign project labor rates and support project-based financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
• 4+ years of professional accounting or finance experience, including 3+ years of financial analysis experience.
• Experience with GL reconciliations, variance analysis, accruals, sales and cost analysis, and month-end close.
• Demonstrated project costing, project accounting, or project profitability analysis experience.
• Proficiency with ERP financial modules; Oracle ERP experience strongly preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience analyzing high-volume financial data.
• Multi‑entity, multi‑currency, or international operations experience preferred.
• Experience with foreign subsidiaries, intercompany transactions, or international taxation preferred.
• Experience within a foreign‑owned or Japanese‑owned organization is a plus.
