Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking an Invoice Project Accountant II to join the Accounting Department. The role involves preparing and submitting complex invoices for various contract types, ensuring compliance with standards, and collaborating with project managers to finalize client submissions.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule after an initial training period, with a compensation range of $22-$30 per hour based on experience and credentials.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project billing experience.
• Knowledgeable in Project / Cost Accounting.
• Experience using computerized accounting systems.
• Intermediate Excel and data entry skills required.

Responsibilities

• Review contract terms and verifications of job setup paperwork.
• Ensure information is accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
• Set up project financials and budgeting in the accounting system.
• Analyze monthly financials and revenue recognition.
• Ensure all billing transactions are recorded accurately.
• Review sub consultant invoices for contractual compliance and process vouchers.
• Prepare complex invoices (Cost Plus, Time and Materials, Fixed Price) and monthly billing.
• Work with project managers to finalize invoices for client submittal.
• Investigate and resolve billing issues to ensure timely billing.

JMT's Accounting Department is seeking a team-orientated Invoice Project Accountant II to join their group! The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of accounting to invoice clients for project work.

Compensation for this position is $22-$30/hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. After an initial training period, a hybrid work schedule is available.

Essential functions and responsibilities

• Review contract terms and verifications of job setup paperwork.
• Ensure that submitted information is accurate and in compliance with company accounting standards and government requirements.
• Set up project financials and budgeting in the accounting database
• Analyze monthly financials and on-going revenue recognition
• Ensure all billing transactions are completed and accurately recorded in the Accounting system
• Review sub consultant invoices for contractual compliance and process vouchers
• Prepare complex invoices (Cost Plus, Time and Materials, & Fixed Price) and complete monthly billing
• Work with project managers to finalize invoices for submittal to client.
• Investigate and resolve billing issues to ensure jobs are billed within the appropriate time.

Nonessential functions and responsibilities

• High School Diploma and 4 years of related experience, or Associates Degree and 2 years of related experience, or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business.
• 4+ years of project billing experience
• Knowledgeable in Project / Cost Accounting
• Experience using computerized accounting systems
• Intermediate Excel and data entry skills required

Qualifications Preferred

• Experience working in accounting operations for a multi-discipline consulting engineering/ architectural office, job cost support and invoice processing.

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
