Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Accountant 1 in California to manage client invoicing, collections, and project budgeting, with backup support for AP, time sheets, and expense reports. This role supports contract documentation and performance data across project teams.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in accounting or related field, with familiarity in Earned Value Management and strong MS Office skills. HDR offers comprehensive benefits with an employee-owned culture and full-time employment.

Qualifications

Associate degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with Earned Value Management.
Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills.
Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook.
Active participant in our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

Invoicing, collections management, budgeting for projects, and assist with AP, time sheets, and expense reports.
Maintain accurate contract documentation and budget entries.
Provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues with project staff.
Coordinate project accounting within the department and ensure contractual compliance.
Assist multiple project managers and staff daily.
Perform other duties as needed.
