Job summary

MBH Architects is seeking a Project Accountant to join our team across Alameda, NY or Denver offices. The role focuses on the financial management of projects, ensuring costs, billing, and budgets are accurate and current.

You’ll work with Deltek Vantagepoint, prepare forecasts, manage payroll, and support project managers with timely invoicing and financial reporting. We value organized, communicative professionals who can handle multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience with U.S. and U.K. payroll practices and regulations.
• Experience with accounts receivable and general accounting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Set up new projects in Deltek Vantagepoint based on negotiated contracts and process contract amendments.
• Prepare weekly fee forecasts and expenditure reports, ensuring accounting data aligns with project timelines.
• Process and administer payroll accurately and timely.
• Process project expense transfers and labor adjustments.
• Maintain accurate project contract files and financial records.
• Gather professional fee, reimbursable, and consultant billing information to prepare draft and final client invoices.
• Calculate interest and support collection efforts.
• Process accounts receivable and prepare A/R aging reports, including reconciling A/R to the general ledger.
• Research and resolve accounting and billing issues.
• Provide Deltek Vantagepoint training and support to Project Managers.
• Build and maintain client relationships to support timely collections.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures.

We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team in Alameda, New York, or Denver office. This position plays a key role in managing the financial side of projects, making sure project costs, billing, and budgets are accurate and up to date.
