Job summary

Speedwell Construction is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our Accounting team in Manheim, PA. This role works closely with Project Management and preconstruction to manage the financial side of construction projects from award through closeout.

The ideal candidate will understand construction accounting, monitor costs, maintain accurate billings, and support financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Two+ years of accounting experience; construction accounting preferred.
• Experience with construction projects in the $3–$10 million range preferred.
• Understanding of construction job costing, WIP accounting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Familiarity with AIA G702/G703 billing and lien waiver processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Trimble Viewpoint Vista strongly preferred; comparable construction ERP experience will be considered.
• Trimble Pay or similar subcontractor payment/lien-waiver platform experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly owner billings using AIA G702/G703 forms.
• Monitor project costs and identify budget variances with Project Managers.
• Maintain accurate cost-to-complete projections.
• Coordinate financial review of contract terms, exhibits, and billing provisions.
• Review subcontractor billings, retainage releases, and lien waivers.
• Coordinate subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and change-order documentation within Vista and Trimble Pay.
• Follow up on outstanding receivables and assist with collections.
• Support month-end close, WIP review, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Assist with forecasting, cost projections, and project cash-flow projections.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready project financial records through closeout.
• Serve as a primary accounting resource for assigned Project Managers.

What We're Looking For
