Project Accountant Denver Colorado (Contract)
Our client is seeking a hands-on Project Accountant to support the implementation of the Sage Intacct Construction module and assist with ongoing project accounting activities. This contract role will play a key part in establishing processes, supporting project cost tracking, and partnering cross-functionally with Construction, Accounts Payable, and Finance teams during a period of system transition and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the Sage Intacct Construction module, including setup, testing, and go-live activities
Help establish and document processes related to project accounting and construction workflows
Perform detailed tracking and reporting of project costs and expenses
Input and maintain projects, job costing, and related data within Sage Intacct
Partner closely with the Construction team to support the transition of assets between groups
Assist in managing and improving workflows related to project and construction accounting
Work closely with the Accounts Payable team and AP Manager to ensure accurate coding, processing, and alignment with project requirements
Perform monthly reconciliations, including intercompany accounts
Support miscellaneous accounting and finance projects as needed

Qualifications & Skills
Experience with project accounting, construction accounting, or job cost accounting
Prior experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred; construction module experience a plus
Ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment and manage shifting priorities
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Solid technical accounting skills, particularly in multi-entity and intercompany environments
Comfortable working closely with AP and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a contract setting
