Job summary

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to partner with each business unit, managing all financial information for projects, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely billings and collections.

You will interface with Project Managers, analyze profitability, accruals, and budgets, and support auditors with project records. The role requires 0–3 years of relevant experience and a BS in Business or Engineering, with NetSuite and Box.com experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of project contracts and change orders
  • Familiarity with invoicing, budget control, and ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and writing skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers on contract documents, scope changes, and approvals
  • Generate and interpret financial records for project profitability and backlog
  • Respond to client requests and investigate variances and unbilled costs
  • Create and close opportunities and projects in NetSuite and Box.com
  • Maintain project records including contracts and change orders
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and project billings
  • Create customer invoicing and assist auditors as needed

Job description

The Project Accountant is responsible for working with each business unit to manage all the financial information related to projects. This includes monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving project expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments are collected. The Project Accountant will be the client interface for Project Managers while also being responsible for proactively analyzing and reporting on financial project administration, profitability, utilization, budgets and accruals.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with Project Manager’s regarding contract documents, scope changes, contract amendments, approvals, financial status, and any additional services related to Projects
  • Generate and interpret financial records and statements for management and project managers – i.e. project profitability, opportunities for additional billings, remaining backlog available for projects
  • Respond to client requests and interface with clients to investigate project variances, all project expenses not billed to customers, and unpaid contract billings
  • Create and close out opportunities and projects in NetSuite and Box.com as appropriate.
  • Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders (primarily in Box.com)
  • Create, review and/or approve: subcontractor invoices related to projects, all project-related billings to customers, write-off of any project-related billings that cannot be billed to or collected from customers
  • Create customer invoicing
  • Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • 0-3 years of experience in project accounting or related field
  • BS degree in Business or Engineering, is a plus
  • Knowledge of project contracts and change order documents
  • Familiarity or experience with financial project tasks, including budget control, invoicing, or creating sales orders within ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Experience with NetSuite and Box.com a plus
Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $63,900-$74,200 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience.
