Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Project Accountant to help track and report on the financial performance of our construction projects in the Dallas area.

The role involves processing owner and subcontractor requisitions, updating budgets, and coordinating with Project Managers on accounting and administration issues. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 0–3 years of experience are required, along with Suffolk’s core values of Passion, Integrity, Hard Work, Professionalism, and Caring.

Responsibilities

  • Process the monthly owner requisition
  • Process subcontractor requisitions
  • Ensure the subcontractor is complying with terms and conditions of the contract (i.e. insurance, billing procedures, etc.)
  • Process budget updates
  • Process cost transfers
  • Select invoices to be included in the weekly disbursement cycle
  • Monitor and track the cash position of the project
  • Assist the Corporate Risk Manager in the administration of a Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP)
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Project Executives on all facets of project accounting and administration issues

The Project Accountant plays a key role in tracking and reporting on the project's financial performance.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing.
