Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Accountant in Columbus to coordinate all phases of construction job costing, billings, and vendor compliance for a large project and several smaller ones. You will work with the Project Manager to ensure timely, accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.

You will compile billings, analyze costs vs. budget, manage lien waivers and W-9s, and produce profitability reports using COINs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years’ of project accounting experience preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge.
• Strong organization skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Position Summary

The Project Accountant is responsible for coordinating all phases of the construction job costing process including categorizing, recording, analyzing and monitoring costs and billings associated with a large construction project as well as several smaller less complex projects. This position also assures vendor compliance in order to manage project risk. This role is assigned to a large construction project, working closely with the Project Manager to assure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.
